About me
Holistic Trigger point therapist and Breath coach
Continuous development
I am very eager to learn and always wonder where I can do better. I consider it important to keep up with the latest developments and insights in my field and to continually update my knowledge by regularly investing in continuing and advanced education. I therefore continue to follow various courses and training programs to further complete and refine my treatment approach.
Holistic = effective
In practice, I see that a holistic approach is the most effective. This means that in addition to focusing on the musculoskeletal system, muscles, spine, the nervous system, connective tissue and mental health deserve attention. Body and mind are one, and the mind–body connection is also of significant importance in understanding and resolving the underlying causes of chronic pain or recurring complaints.
In my practice in the Indische Buurt in Amsterdam, I support people who are often highly sensitive, perfectionistic, eager to please others… but who have also been strong for a long time. And along the way, have lost touch with themselves. I combine hands-on therapy, breathwork, and mind–body education. Not to suppress symptoms, but to understand what the body is trying to communicate and, from there, to make real and lasting change possible.
My story
At the age of 23, my world came to a standstill. I lost my mother to acute leukemia, and with her, my sense of safety disappeared. As a highly sensitive person, stimuli had always come in unfiltered, but this loss was not only felt emotionally – my body took over. I was unable to grieve; I was completely shut down.
Chronic back pain, extreme jaw tension (for almost a year I could barely open my mouth), constant stress, and nervousness became my daily reality. Later, I came to understand that I was not only carrying my own pain, but also something invisible: second-generation war trauma. My parents were children of war, and unconsciously part of that was passed on. I learned that the body sometimes carries stories that go further back than you might think.
From fleeing to coming home
For years, I tried to escape from pain. I traveled to all continents of the world, connected with the most extraordinary people, had an endless hunger for adventure, and was always on the move. But wherever I went, I carried my body — and its discomforts — with me.
I tried many different therapies and took a mindfulness course. Everything helped a little, but never in a lasting way. Until I discovered that sustainable recovery is not only about muscles, load, and posture, but also about the deep connection between body and mind.
Perhaps you recognize something in my story. Perhaps you feel that your body carries more than just the pain or discomfort of the present moment.
Then know this: you do not have to walk this path alone. I would be glad to support you.
My path to what I do today
After two burnouts, I decided to change course completely. I let go of my commercial background and fully immersed myself in retraining. In 2015, I chose a new path and became a holistic (trigger point) therapist, specializing in neuromuscular trigger point therapy, fascia release, pain education, and breathwork. What began as my personal search for recovery grew into a calling.
Pain is rarely only physical
My vision is clear: pain is rarely only physical. It is often the body’s language, where stress, emotions, and old patterns converge. Body and mind are one – and it is precisely this connection that holds the key to sustainable recovery.
Who I am – behind the therapist
I am a mother, entrepreneur, connector, and lifelong student. I love yoga, walking, cooking, live music, reading, nature, and the sauna — moments of slowing down in a full and busy life. Above all, I am human. A human with a story that has shaped me, and that I now use to understand and guide you.
